Retains complete upstream engine.js, table lifecycle, bot, legal move generation, one-hive/sliding gates, five classic insects (Firefly uses Spider movement), optional Mosquito/Ladybug/Pillbug rules, draw detection, move log, undo window and local-device rematches.
Modifications: replaced HTTP/server transport with in-browser table adapter, bot/hotseat only; local-device saves, flat paths, no online tables, original GPT-generated insect portraits used on board/reserves/guide, synthesized local sounds, branding/credits.
Complete preferred-form source is index.html, style.css, app.js, engine.js, table.js, icons.js, names.js and fireflies.js. No compilation or dependencies; serve the flat bundle with any static host. Code under GPL-3.0 (LICENSE.txt). Original VCR font omitted to meet the hosting platform binary restrictions; its attribution is retained for source provenance (FONT-LICENSE.txt). System monospace fonts are used instead. No upstream art/audio is reused.
